Senior Attorney Digital & Data Protection

The Data and Digital Team is a dynamic and forward-thinking focused on the rapidly evolving landscape of data protection and digital legislation. We work with a diverse range of clients in both the private and public sectors. Our work is multifaceted and includes:

• Advising clients on strategies for implementing data-driven and AI-projects.
• Representing clients in litigation before courts and data protection authorities.
• Managing data breach and cybersecurity incident responses.
• Providing strategic and operational advice on emerging legislation and frameworks, including data sharing, cloud services, trust services (eSignatures, eArchiving, etc.), and more.
• Drafting and negotiating complex contracts related to digital and data protection law.

Our collaborative approach often involves working in multidisciplinary teams alongside colleagues specializing in corporate law, public law, competition law, employment law, and other areas.

Job Description

As a Senior Attorney Digital & Data Protection, your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and defining strategies for the matters outlined above, taking ownership of complex cases and projects.
• Staying at the forefront of new data legislation, including the DMA, DSA, DGA, DA, AIA, NIS2, DORA, CRA, and other relevant frameworks.
• Building and nurturing strong, long-term client relationships by providing expert, solution-oriented advice.
• Mentoring and guiding junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
• Playing a key role in cross-departmental collaboration to deliver innovative and comprehensive solutions for our clients.

Profile

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional who meets the following criteria:

• A Belgian law degree with a strong academic record.
• A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in data protection, digital law, and/or technology-related legal matters.
• A passion for data protection, digital innovation, AI, and emerging technologies.
• Fluency in Dutch, with excellent proficiency in English and French (both written and verbal).
• An entrepreneurial and curious mindset, with a proactive and results-driven approach to problem-solving.
• Exceptional organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to handle responsibility with confidence.
• A strong team player with excellent communication and leadership skills.
