I4B – The Belgian Infrastructure Fund is an investor in two greenfield battery energy storage systems (BESS) located in Langerlo (Genk) and Ruien (Kluisbergen), with a capacity of 100 MW/400 MWh and 200 MW/800 MWh respectively. The total investment value amounts to €330 million. These projects will make a significant contribution to the flexibility and reliability of the Belgian electricity system.
The project is being developed by Storm and the investment is being made in collaboration with PMV and TINC. A consortium of several banks (Belfius, ING, KBC Bank, Rabobank, Santander, Société Générale and Triodos Bank) provided project financing.
