Michiel is Head of AI Solutions and a corporate lawyer. He leads the firm’s AI Team, which designs and builds AI solutions for clients’ business needs and helps clients put AI to practical use.
The AI Team also runs the firm’s AI programme, covering strategic advice, the secure implementation of large language models, workflow automation, and practical training for lawyers and staff.
In his transactional practice, Michiel specialises in corporate and securities law, focusing on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private and public capital raisings, and other corporate transactions.
Michiel became an attorney at Eubelius and a member of the Brussels Bar in 2016. He became counsel in 2026 and, later that year, was appointed Head of AI Solutions.
Michiel obtained his law degree at the University of Antwerp in 2016. In 2024, he also obtained his PhD at the University of Antwerp with a dissertation on equity subscription, conversion, and preference rights.
Michiel is associated with the Research Group Business & Law at the University of Antwerp. He also regularly authors contributions in specialised publications and is a frequent speaker at seminars in the areas of AI & LegalTech, and company and financial law.
He handles matters in Dutch, in English and in French.
