Thomas mainly focuses on advisory work and dispute resolution in real estate, energy and corporate law. He has a broad experience in setting up and supervising complex (construction) projects with a particular focus on the (renewable) energy market. He specializes in the drafting and enforcement of various types of contracts (EPC(M), O&M, LTSA, PPA, FIDIC-suite,…) and represents (international) clients on a regular basis before the Belgian courts and appeal courts.
Thomas was previously a member of the Dutch-speaking association of the Brussels bar and joined Eubelius and the West Flanders Bar in 2015.
He obtained his law degree at the Universiteit Gent in 2011 and in 2012 he obtained complementary degree in economic law at the Université libre de Bruxelles. In 2016, Thomas also obtained the complementary degree of Master in corporate law at the KU Leuven.
Thomas is a part-time teaching assistant at the Department of Interdisciplinary Study of Law, Private Law and Business Law at Universiteit Gent. He regularly gives lectures on corporate and real estate law and is the author of several publications. He delivered the opening oration of the judicial year 2016-2017 of the Bar association of Kortrijk.
Thomas is fluent in Dutch, English and French.
