Sylvain Guéret has been working as a solicitor for ten years, the past four of which have been at Eubelius. He is involved in financial transactions, both nationally and internationally. On 1 January 2026, he was appointed counsel. For him, this new role is primarily a recognition of the journey he has taken over the past few years and the trust he has been given within the firm.
“I worked at another law firm for six years and have been with Eubelius for four years now. Although I learned a lot at my previous firm, this move was a very good decision. I immediately had good interactions with the people here, and that’s essential for me.”
What does this promotion mean to you?
“First of all, it’s recognition of my work. It’s nice to feel that your efforts are seen and appreciated, both in relation to the clients and the firm. This promotion didn’t catapult me into a totally new role overnight. It’s the result of an evolution that has been going on for some time, and the recognition motivates me to keep doing what I can to further develop the firm.”
How will you continue to grow in the coming period?
“An important part of my role is to further develop expertise and client relationships. This is something you do step by step, and the result isn’t immediately noticeable or measurable. It requires constant effort. We are very close to our clients and really part of their operations. When you gain their trust in this way, it’s another form of recognition.”

What have you taken with you from your journey so far?
“I’ve been able to work on major cases that received media attention, but what I find most important in cases is closeness with the client and the trust that grows from that. The feeling that you’re contributing to something that really matters. At the same time, you learn from every file. There are definitely things I would do differently today, but I don’t regret anything. Every choice you make, you make with the experience you have at that moment.”

How do you view collaboration and teamwork?
“A team works best when every person is deployed where he or she creates the most added value. You need to distribute tasks efficiently, taking into account experience and the best way to make use of talents and expertise. For me, that’s what efficient teamwork is: the right people on the right tasks at the right time.”
