Eubelius assists BESIX and INDAVER in a DBFMO project for a mono treatment plant for sludge derived from the treatment of urban waste water

Did you know that, in Flanders, some 108,000 tonnes of dry matter are generated annually from water treatment sludge and a significant proportion of that is incinerated? Aquafin, together with BESIX and INDAVER, is now going to change that.

This innovative project is an important step in an evolution towards raw material and energy recovery.

The project concerns the construction and operation of a plant for the mono processing of sludge from the treatment of urban waste water for a period of 20 years.

Eubelius is providing legal assistance to a consortium consisting of the construction company BESIX and the waste management company INDAVER in connection with the realisation of a sludge mono treatment plant for the water purification company Aquafin. We guided the consortium through the competitive dialogue to the conclusion of the DBFMO contract.

The intention is to bring the new plant into use by 1 January 2026.

Our Eubelius team consists of Anthony Logghe, Tom Villé and Michaël Verbeke.
