The new Books 1 (General Provisions) and 5 (Obligations) of the Civil Code were approved by the Chamber on 21 April 2022.
These new rules were published in the Belgian Official Gazette on 1 July 2022 (Acts of 28 April 2022).
The new rules will enter into force on 1 January 2023 and will then apply to contracts concluded as from that date.
