Listed companies must submit their LEI code to the FSMA before 1 January 2017. If a listed company does not yet have an LEI code, the company should request one on the website of the LEI Regulatory Oversight Committee without delay.

Pursuant to Delegated Regulation (EU) 2016/1437, certain regulated information (e.g. annual reports, financial information, details concerning inside information) for all European listed companies must be accessible via a single European electronic access point as of 1 January 2017. This access point must, among other things, refer to the database set up by the FSMA (STORI), which includes the regulated information for all Belgian listed companies.

Within this European access point, the listed companies will be identified by a unique LEI code. LEI is an abbreviation for "Legal Entity Identifier", a standard recognised worldwide for identifying legal entities.
