Thomas Van Gerven specialises in EU and Belgian competition law, including state aid, foreign direct investments and foreign subsidies. He also advises clients on broader EU-regulatory issues.
Thomas joined Eubelius as an attorney in 2023 and became that same year a member of the Dutch-speaking association of the Brussels Bar. In 2024-2025, he studied at Harvard University, where he obtained an LL.M. at the Harvard Law School. After an internship at the competition team of the Legal Service of the European Commission, he returned to Eubelius.
He obtained his Master of Laws at KU Leuven in 2022, followed by a Complementary degree in European law in 2023 at the Institut d’études européennes of the Université libre de Bruxelles.
Thomas is also an assistant at the Institute for Private International Law at KU Leuven.
He handles cases in Dutch, English and French.
